When We Are Closed

If you require urgent medical attention when the surgery is closed please phone the surgery and you will hear the emergency out of hour's telephone number on a recorded message or phone direct on number listed below.

The duty doctor will then either offer advice, ask you to attend a Primary care centre or will offer a home visit where necessary.

Emergency Out Of Hours telephone number: 111

Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.

Extended Hours

Practices are working in partnership with other Practices in the area to provide additional GP appointments between 18:30 – 20:00 during the week and also over the weekend.

If you need access to an evening or weekend non-urgent appointment, please call and speak to the receptionist at your registered practice during normal opening hours.

Your appointment may be with another Practice in the area and may not be at your registered practice.

If you need help when we are closed

When the surgery is closed, please telephone and follow the instructions for the out-of-hours service or use the Walk-in Centres (between 08:00 – 20:00) at

134 Heath Street, Winson Green, B18 7AL, Tel: 0121 389 1100

               OR

Malling Health Centre, Parsonage Street, West Bromwich, B71 4DL, Tel: 0121 612 3575

NHS 111 also offers free expert health information and advice 24-hours a day - dial 111.

They also offer an enquiry service.  For deaf people and those hard of hearing, a telephone service is available on 0845 606 4647. If English is not your preferred language, you can choose to use a confidential translation service.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
