Cruse Bereavement Support Sandwell: Offers free, confidential support and listening services. Located at Smethwick Council House on High Street (B66 3NT). You can call them directly at 0121 558 1798 or reach the national helpline at 0808 808 1677.

Loss Matters 2026 This programme is for anyone who has been affected by any type of loss and has been an invaluable support to many who have attended previously. If you would like to reserve a space for sessions, please contact Christina Murray at projects@dorothyparkes.org or call on 0121 558 2998.
Local Support Services for Carers
If you are caring for a family member, friend or someone close to you, you do not have to manage everything alone. There are local services available to provide practical advice, emotional support, wellbeing support and help with accessing further care and support.
Sandwell Carers Service

Sandwell Carers Service provides a range of free support for unpaid carers across Sandwell, including:
- One-to-one information, advice and support
- Carer wellbeing checks
- Emergency and future planning
- Benefits and welfare advice
- Support with managing your caring role
- Signposting to other local services and support groups

Crossroads Caring for Carers
Carers Assistance Line: 0121 803 6830
Crossroads Caring for Carers offers free support to unpaid carers across Sandwell and the wider Black Country. Support includes:
- Confidential one-to-one emotional support
- Advice, information and guidance
- Benefits and financial advice
- Support with accessing a Carer's Assessment
- Wellbeing support
- Practical advice and training
- Carer support groups, including groups supporting carers of people living with dementia
The Carers Assistance Line is available Monday to Thursday, 8:30am–4:30pm and Friday, 8:30am–4pm.
Sandwell Council – Carer's Assessment

If you provide unpaid care, you can request a Carer's Assessment from Sandwell Council. The assessment helps identify what support you may need and whether you could be eligible for services such as support with equipment, direct payments, benefits advice or breaks from caring.
